Winter Wonderland Hyde Park

Ice skating outdoors has become very popular over the last few years, especially before Christmas. Perhaps people have romantic notions about skating through a park hands entwined with their loved one. The reality is a little different however and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is definitely overrated. You can go for a sedate ride on a big wheel, feel very unscared on a haunted house ride, feel let down by a very tame toboggan run or circle a very small area of ice trying not to land too hard on your bum or crash into the many people doing the same thing. All for an extortionate price. (Well it is London what do you expect?) You can even buy a very oversized sausage encased in a very small bread roll and try to eat it without spilling mustard down yourself. The place was so cheesey, it was funny. Perhaps next year Somerset House might be a classier choice…
