It reminds me of the noises I heard bush babies making in Tanzania… I thought it was some kind of exotic bird until the locals put me right. I doubt there are bush babies in Bulgaria though! Sounds like either a bird or a nocturnal mammal like a racoon or something. I tried looking for sound files on the internet, for Bulgarian wildlife, but there was nothing much out there.

I couldn’t work out if it was in the trees or on the ground. It made these noises every night!
I thought it was a frog, ha ha
